May Memorial Honors Those Who Have Died

May Memorial Honors Those Who Have Died
Wednesday, April 26, 2017

Benton Hospice Service invites the community to join others in remembering those who have died. A May Memorial will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 20, 2017 in Starker Arts Park at Country Club Drive and SW 45th Street, Corvallis. There is no cost and the entire community is invited to attend.

The May Memorial is a time to honor those who have died through a sharing of their names. Following the reading of the names, each attendee will be invited to release flower petals into the pond and to spend a few moments in reflection at the water’s edge.   Rituals, such as these, create a safe space for people to come together in times of grief, to share emotions, and honor connection to those who have died.  Coming together with others who are also in grief can create a feeling of connection and support.  Refreshments will be offered following the petal release.

This event is a chance for our community to remember and honor those who have died. Everyone is invited to attend and bring the name of someone who died that they want to remember. Honorees need not have been a patient of Benton Hospice Service to be included.
